Little Misfortune is a popular indie game from Killmonday Games, which is said to share the same universe as Fran Bow. This connection is only at the world level in Fran Bow which has a connection to the world of Little Misfortune and while playing Little Misfortune you will meet some of the characters from Fran Bow somewhere.

However, these two stories are completely different so far. The developer also has not made any confirmation that there will be a game that explains all the worlds in the two games above as well as how these many worlds will close to form a common thread.

The story begins in the seemingly peaceful house of Little Misfortune. She named her so because she thought her presence would be a misfortune for many people, including herself. The girl was born from an “accident”, both Misfortune’s father and mother were then attached to a person they had no feelings for, like a contract to live in the same house.

She had a pimp father, who was immersed in alcohol and drugs all day. He often beat and abused her, while her mother was no better, taking her out all day to berate her, blaming fate, neglecting her, and not caring, like a type of mental abuse. But Misfortune is nevertheless carefree, loves her parents unconditionally, and does not complain about anything.

One day, Misfortune met a strange character named Mr. Voice. This voice expressed surprise that the girl was able to communicate with her and from there, a strange game of discovery opened. Misfortune gets Mr. Voice promises to bring a gift of “Eternal Happiness”, which she has always wanted to give her mother. The girl began to follow the instructions of Mr. Voice travels to many places, uncovers many mysteries, and also meets countless strange characters that the world has never seen before.

However, from the very beginning, the voice of Mr. Voice has always reminded the player that Misfortune will die, very quickly. And that all you’re about to get through here is just a game.

Another important event is also related to the starting point of Little Misfortune’s journey. The little girl before leaving to carry out the instructions of Mr. Voice had brought a jar of glitter with them. Whenever things around her turn bad or when she feels scared, she will sprinkle glitter in front of her face and start to imagine in a more positive direction. And when the situation gets better, she will receive a Spark in her heart. In Misfortune there is another character, which can be considered the third main – a fox named Benjamin. More strangely, Benjamin himself was always trying to give Misfortune some direction or sign, but whenever she approached, Benjamin always ran away as if he didn’t want to face her.

Voice has always been associated with things that are deadly, diabolical, and dangerous metaphors. The story comes to an end when Benjamin is revealed to be a Guardian, who always protects children from a dark force called Parasites from another world. The Parasites are hunting the souls of children to offer as scapegoats to a supreme power they worship, a force capable of destroying all worlds is present in Misfortune and Fran Bow that we have known.

And Mr. Voice is none other than an insidious Parasite. Poor Misfortune is dead at the beginning of the game. Later, when recalling, the girl dimly realized that she had soullessly followed Mr. Voice, crossed the street, and was killed by a car. However, this is also the time when Mr. Voice realized that Misfortune could hear him, and could communicate and converse directly with him, unlike any other child spirits he had seduced.

From here on, he began to want to tease and play with Misfortune’s soul until he got bored. This also explains his words at the start of the game that this girl will soon die and that it’s all just a game.

The final scene is when Baby Misfortune comes back home in the eerie silence and no one hears her call. At this time Mr. The voice asked her to play the game with him again. Now if you refuse to play with Mr. Voice, he will go mad and manifest himself as a monster named Morgo. Bodyguard Benjamin arrived just in time to slay the monster with a single blow. The game stops if you don’t collect enough Rays. But if there’s enough, you’ll get one more cutscene that shows the rays converging into a flying ball that gently warms a mother’s heart. She smiled and looked up at the sky for the first time.

To explain this, you need to know more details: the driver who hit and killed Misfortune was none other than her father. What does a mother’s smile mean? The miserable husband who put her life on hold, her tormentor both physically and mentally, and the person she detested was finally accused of killing her daughter. The story has no happy ending. No matter what Misfortune died, no matter how that innocent face with big round eyes ended up in the afterlife, the obvious fact that was a bad past with her never changed.
