The spacious horizontal screen opens up to many beautiful, poetic scenes, Kingdom Eighties is a solo adventure based on exciting micro-strategy combined with the ability to manage resources and build a base. There are so many seemingly opposing things that end up blending in such a satisfying way in this game.

Introduce about Kingdom Eighties

Defeat the mysterious Greed to save your town!

Indie games always have their own appeal, because developers are not forced to make games according to any rules, and are also free from the pressure of companies to run sales. On platforms, there have been many strange independent games born, bringing small, but poetic waves to the hearts of players. Kingdom Eighties is one such game.

What content area does Kingdom Eighties focus on?

Kingdom Eighties is part of the famous Kingdom series. In this part, you will delve deeper into the details of the legendary story. Also, explore how the world of the series was created through micromanagement and kingdom-building. If you are interested in the background of the Kingdom series, Kingdom Eighties is the right choice.

The story

Kingdom Eighties is set in a kingdom filled with magical neon lights in the 80s. The player will be The Leader, a young counselor of the largest school in this neon kingdom.

Currently, the big school, along with the whole town, including her small family, are threatened by a group of aggressive, mysterious Greed people. They are more like a breed of monsters. The purpose of flooding this land seems to be to steal the kingdom’s legacy of The Leader family. The reason why they do that or who is controlling and behind the manipulation is still unclear.

The Leader will of course use all his strength to fight the Greed invaders, find every way to protect the town, protect his family and the school he is advising. This is the main content in the adventure called Kingdom Eighties.

Strange gameplay

Setting out a simple story, and also designed for a somewhat romantic and poetic setting, Kingdom Eighties thought it would simply be a story-driven action role-playing game. But not. This game is essentially a game that combines many seemingly unrelated elements but turns out to be extremely suitable when placed in the same story.

Specifically, Kingdom Eighties is a solo adventure game with micro strategy, resource management, and base building. That means you will recruit excellent children in school, assign them specific tasks corresponding to each child’s unique abilities, and then gradually build a powerful army under your leadership. Using this army to fight the Greed, you will gain loot and coins. Coins are used to continue upgrading the army, recruiting more builders, and constantly expanding and protecting the kingdom.

Building goes hand in hand with defense

With the amount of money in hand (which will increase as you win battles), you will hire more people and place them in different roles, the most prominent of which is being a Soldier or a Builder.

Masons are also divided into many small groups depending on ability. There’s a design team, there’s a construction team, there’s a turret building team. Because you always have to balance both human and material resources, ensuring that in parallel with building infrastructure for the kingdom, you also have to strengthen the surrounding walls and build more defensive turrets.

Building more infrastructure will help the country become rich and strong, and expand its territory and development potential. Also fortifying the city wall will help you fend off threats from outside invasions, especially from those wild Greeds.

Explore the neon world of the 80s

Every corner of this 80s kingdom, at first glance, looks sparklingly beautiful, but in reality, deep inside it contains many secrets.

By going to many places, and discovering the secrets of each small land, you will obtain many rare resources, meet interesting people, and learn a few more clues about the origin of the Greed. Sometimes there are also very interesting activities such as unlocking mounts, discovering new weapons, and finding modern technology passed down from ancient people.

These are all rare and limited resources, which you must conscientiously manage to best develop your kingdom.

Have yourself 3 interesting companions

The Leader is the main character, she cannot take on everything alone, so as the story progresses, you will later meet 3 more supporting characters, also 3 strange, impulsive but loyal friends who support wholeheartedly. These are The Champ, The Wiz and The Tinkerer. Each person will take turns contributing their own abilities, helping you solve the secrets of the land and fight enemies.

Smooth, mellow handmade pixel art

Rarely is any pixel art game able to successfully create impressively beautiful scenes like Kingdom Eighties. Inspired by the neon design style of the 80s, with a contemporary vibe, and the romantic atmosphere of a rural kingdom, playing Kingdom Eighties is your chance to have hours of immersive play.

When cycling on the road, when camping with friends, leisurely collecting this and that on the road, while watching the bright streets at night. Even when fighting, everything becomes poetic compared to many other action games.

Kingdom Eighties doesn’t put too much emphasis on combat. Instead, micromanagement combined with building is the main source of this game, and what helps you gradually form your own beautiful, powerful 80s neon kingdom.
