The “main characters” in Slugterra: Slug it Out 2 are snail larvae. They are inherently interesting alien creatures, with diverse powers unique to each and no two in appearance.

The player takes the role of a larval trainer – the future Slug Slinger. Similar to the usual progression in Pokemon games, you will need to collect as many types of larvae as possible. Then use your match-3 skills to train them, unlocking them with many unique skills.

Explore the larva hunting cave

The only place to find these alien slug larvae is from strange dark caves. Players need to spend time traveling through many different lands, rummaging into dark caves to find new snails. You will then use the default larva that is available or just collected for it to duel with the new wild slug larvae.

If you win, the new slug larvae will obediently become minions, part of your slug army. Otherwise, you will lose a slug larva (the one you brought out to fight) and may be forced to return later if you want to capture the wild animal in front of you.

Match-3 deploys force to larvae in battles

The focus of Slugterra: Slug it Out 2, in addition to the snail larva collection, certainly cannot help but mention the dramatic battles between legions of snails belonging to different trainers.

In order for the snail to go to war, you’ll have to refill the larva’s health bar, through the classic match-3 action. Variety of slugs

As with Pokemon games, Slugterra: Slug it Out 2’s interest in players comes from the diverse types of slugs. Each has its own appearance, abilities, and evolutionary path.

With each type of slug, when you bring them to battle, you get their own unique match-3 levels, corresponding to the special abilities of that slug. This means that you will experience hundreds of match-3 levels in increasing levels.

If you win the battle (by solving a match-3 puzzle), you will receive a new treasure, which can be a new slug species or regular money along with brand new slug enhancement items.

The more fights, the stronger the slug

The more a slug has a chance to fight, the stronger it will be. This is shown by the number of stars of the slub (more stars are stronger than less stars). Your task over time is not simply to collect a variety of slugs, but to continuously develop each one in depth by continuously increasing them through battles.

If you have a large army of slug larvae and each one has high stars, you will clearly have an advantage over trainers with few larvae or all weak larvae.
